From reading the description of this beer I just had to give it a try. So what do you get when you mix a bunch of crazy beers together? Well Geektoberfest is a dark dark brown beer with a thick fluffy mocha head. It's a very attractive beer. But then it quickly falls apart. One sniff and you get a whiff of sourness. How couldn't you? I think the inclusion of a sour brown is the oddest choice in the mix of beers thrown into this zombie creation. In the end the brett from the sour has taken over. In fact I think the brett has killed each of the beers as it moved through any of the leftover sugars. In the end you get this bizarre hybrid of a beer that's kind of a Flanders Brown and kind of not. The body is very light, as I said the brett ate away all the malt character, and the after taste is rather bland. It's not that this is a bad beer, but for all the work that took to make it; well, then yeah, it's a bad beer in that context. In fact it's kind of annoying. I would have rather had each of those seven beers that were tossed into this hodgepodge and enjoyed them individually. Oh well, you always got to try something new. It reminds me of standing at the soda fountain as a child and thinking I know how to get the best soda in the world: mix them all together!
